This ball chain and retriever concept has been developed to help
save installation time. Since its introduction, it has evolved into
a “must have” tool for retrofit installation. The Flex-Fish
Retrieval System contains two components: 1) 18" flexible insulated retriever with an ultra strong earth magnet
attached at one end & the other end has a female fitting which will accept
attachments. 2) 10ft. of lightweight ball chain with a
stop-ring. This system
provides a fast and easy solution to connecting an in-wall entry
point to an exit point blindly (without vision tools) to pull wire.

How to use the Flex-Fish System
Simply drop the ball chain with
stop-ring attached through small hole from top of un-insulated wall.
Let it slither to the bottom of the in-wall space by giving it a
jiggle or two. Bend the flexible retriever into an "shape", feed it
through a small hole at the bottom of the same wall (as shown in
photo). Flip back and forth until magnet finds and attaches itself
to ball chain. Slowly retrieve ball chain to just inside the bottom
hole. Using pocket retriever partially extended, catch ball chain
with hook end and bring through bottom hole. Attach your wire or
cable and pull up. Because of its speed and efficiency the Flex-Fish and Retrieval System are a must for every wire and cable
installers’ tool box. |
